Dear Praying Friends~Lent 2024 begins this week. You may not be of a church tradition that observes Lent, but I do encourage you to join in this season to seek more intimacy in prayer with the Lord and to pray for our cities. I think many of us are feeling the urgency of “harvest” in these days when things in the world are deteriorating so rapidy. I encourage you to join me as we continue to pray “SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD as WE MAKE DISCIPLES!”
Lent 2024 begins on Ash Wednesday, February 14. During this season, these posts will be focused on praying to make disciples in every area of our cities’ cultures. We have a prayer guide that is downloadable here.

Prayer “Fuel”: Lord, help me and my Christian family across the world to keep on doing the work of our Father. You know that we get weary. We want to see the great worldwide “harvest” of people that You love and died for brought into Your Kingdom. Prayer Pointer: Let every Christian be a gardener so that he and she and the whole of creation, which groans in expectation of the Spirit’s final harvest, may inherit Paradise. If we Christian’s truly treasure the hope that one day we, like Adam and the penitent thief, will walk alongside the One who caused even the dead wood of the Cross to blossom with flowers, then we must also imitate the Master’s art and make the desolate earth grow green. — Vigen Guroian

Prayer “Fuel”: Lord, please fill all the single people we know with Your love. Help them to taste the satisfaction found only in God. Surround them with good friendships. Lord, if they are desiring marriage, please provide a godly spouse. Heal those who are single by divorce or death and give them new hope for life ahead. Help our churches to be welcoming places for singles. And help us to share Your gospel with the singles in our lives. Give us opportunities to share the message of the gospel with them and let us demonstrate Your love to them. Think/Journal/Apply: Is there a lonely international visitor that you have met that might need some friendship? Consider praying for them by name and reaching out.
