Show Us Your Glory, Lord… November 12-17, 2024

A song that fits our Theme…Open the Heavens…show us Your glory!

Dear Praying Friends,

I am writing this on Veteran’s Day 2024, November 11th. This won’t be posted until midnight on Tuesday, November 12, but I encourage you to honor our veterans all week long. I just sent a text to a veteran that I know just to say “thank you.” Please continue in prayer for many veterans who still struggle with PTSD, unemployment, health issues, homelessness. They need our prayers. AND…

Let’s keep praying this month:

SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD, as we pray with THANKSGIVING!

Pray on, Saints! ~Gina

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” ~Joshua 1:9

Note: Consider adding fasting to your prayers on Tuesday, November 12 as we pray for our Nation and this Election. For more teaching about fasting, look here.

Prayer Pointer: “We must purpose in our hearts to serve Jesus and Him alone. We must feast on the things of the Lord rather than the evils of this age. As we do, God will not only give wisdom and understanding, but—I believe—opportunities to share His hope with those around you.” — Will Graham

Prayer “Fuel”: Lord, I may not be an opera singer, but You hear the song of thanksgiving in my heart. Let that song ring out loudly and clearly before Your throne today. I bring a heart full of thanks to You. (add your own response) SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD, as we pray with THANKSGIVING!

Think/Journal/Apply: How do you respond to those who despise or misunderstand you? How does God want you to respond?

As You Have Time: Heartlight devo for Psalm 69:30

Worship Songs for Today: His Glory and My Good

Prayer Pointer: “Joy is the flag flying high above the castle of the heart, announcing that the King is in residence there.” — Unknown

Prayer “Fuel”: Lord, thank You for Your enduring love. People come and go but You are always there for me. In my lonely places today, let me press into Your love and presence. Help my brothers and sisters all over the world to sense Your presence today. I pray especially for those who are suffering for their faith. Help them to stand strong in Your strength. (add your own response) SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD, as we pray with THANKSGIVING!

Think/Journal/Apply: Take a moment and journal a list of things that are good in your life?

Prayer “Fuel”: Lord, thank You for Your steadfast love that continues to shower gifts and blessings in my life. When I am tempted to complain, help me to turn my heart back to thanksgiving because You are a GOOD, GOOD FATHER! (add your own response) SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD, as we pray with THANKSGIVING!

Think/Journal/Apply: Where can I find reasons to rejoice today, even in the small things?

As You Have Time: Do you have a “thanks-living” jar? Read a story about it here.

Worship Song for Today: The Way, The Truth, The Life

Prayer Pointer: Joy is a choice. It’s a daily decision to fix our eyes on the goodness of God, even when our circumstances tempt us to focus on the trials -Our Daily Verse

Prayer “Fuel”: Lord, let today be the day that I give thanks to You and praise Your holy Name. I exalt You as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (add your own response) SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD, as we pray with THANKSGIVING!

Think/Journal/Apply: How can I actively cultivate a grateful spirit, choosing joy over worry?

As You Have Time: Harvest and Thanksgiving

Worship Song for Today: I Set My Hope

Take some time this weekend to take a walk or to listen to some worship music. Continue in an attitude of thanksgiving. Consider joining a Christian community in prayer and worship. Is there someone that you can drop an encouraging note to?
