Dear Praying Friends,

I am writing this the Sunday before Election Day 2024. It will post at midnight on Monday, just one day before. I see so many praying and seeking God during this time and regardless of the outcome, I believe we are seeing the beginning of a true spiritual awakening. I have prayed for my own city for over 40 years and have expanded those prayers to our Nation and our world in more recent years. Even though our challenges are difficult, our God is the same yesterday, today, and FOREVER. Don’t stop praying! Don’t stop seeking! Let’s keep praying this month:

Dear Praying Friends,

I am writing this just a few days before the election. It feels like everyone is holding our “collective breath” to see the outcome. But this is a good time to remember that we have read the “end of the Book” and know the eternal outcome! Jesus is Lord! Keep your heart and mind settled when you are tempted to be anxious. As we enter a very special time of the year, let’s pray:

I have been reminded in these last couple of days that God wants me to pray more than “daily bread” prayers. (Matthew 6:11) Yes, I can ask Him to provide what I need. But if that is all I pray about, my prayer life is very shallow. He also commands us to pray Kingdom prayers. (Matthew 6:10) Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to help us to ask God for things that honor His Kingdom as we keep on praying: SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD, as we are filled with the Holy Spirit!

Dear praying friends,

Let’s keep those impacted by storms like Helene, wildfires and any kind of personal tragedy in our prayers. They need God’s comfort and peace during this time when many have lost so much. Pray especially for those who have lost someone that they love. And please pray for those responding with help to these painful places. This month we are getting to know more about the ministry of the Holy Spirit and we will continue to focus on what God’s Word tells us about our Comforter and Advocate. Aren’t you glad that Jesus did not leave us as orphans when he left this world? I am so delighted for the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in my life every day.
