Show Us Your Glory, Lord… July 22,2025…Keeping Close

Dear Praying Friends,

Keeping close to God this summer has led me to be more intentional in listening for the God “nudges.” Is God “nudging” you to pray for someone? Is He calling you to serve someone? This world is filled with much chaos and confusion, and you may be the one who can make a difference for someone in need. Will you heed the God “nudges”?

Let’s keep praying for Nation and neighbor…

Tuesday, July 22, 2025: Psalm 91:13

Prayer Pointer: Glorifying God isn’t about grand gestures. It’s about quiet faithfulness. It’s listening when you’d rather speak. Choosing patience when you’re tired. Serving when no one sees. These small moments reflect what He is like. -Our Daily Verse

Prayer Fuel: Lord, when I face the trials and struggles in my life, help me to remember this promise in Psalm 91. In Your strength, I can “tread” upon these things and arise victorious in You. Help me to keep my eyes upon You today and not on the circumstances surrounding my life. (add your own prayers here) SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD! HELP US TO THRIVE IN 2025 AND FILL US WITH HOPE AGAIN!

Dear Praying Friends,

I journal a lot and it is good sometimes to look back to see where my heart and mind have been. I can see the “ups and down” of life there and know that no “down” is forever and “ups” can be temporary, too.

I am grateful that Jesus is always there and is the same every day, ready and willing to listen to my heart and my struggles. In the “Prayer Fuel” I will share a bit of a journal entry from July 8, 2025.

This week, I will continue including Psalm 91, a passage of scripture that I have prayed nearly every day for over 5 years now. I hope these verses bring you comfort and peace as they do for me.

Let’s keep praying for Nation and neighbor…

Monday, July 21, 2025: Psalm 91:11-12

Prayer Pointer: When you open Scripture, you’re not checking a box—you’re inviting faith to rise. When you lean into worship or biblical teaching, you’re feeding the very thing that anchors your soul. -Our Daily Verse

Prayer Fuel: (Adapted from journal entry, 7/8/25): Lord, when the hard times come, help me to remember to remain in faith and in worship. Help my brothers and sisters everywhere. Help us to always look to You as the Author of our faith. Help us to resist fear and anxiety and to cast all our cares upon You.(add your own prayers here) SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD! Show Us Your Glory, Lord… July 18,2025…Keeping Close

Dear Praying Friends,

I was leading a prayer group and as we prayed for encouragement for brothers and sisters, I thought of the scripture about God making the desert bloom. I knew I had read it in scripture and upon further investigation this is the scripture that I found:

The desert and the parched land will be glad;
the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.
Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom;
it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
    the splendor of Carmel and Sharon;
they will see the glory of the Lord,
the splendor of our God. Isaiah 35:1-2

I know that many of us feel there are many spiritually “dry” places in our personal lives, our churches, our nation. I know that God can touch these dry places in a moment and make them bloom. I’m holding on to that hope. I pray that you are, too.

Let’s keep praying for Nation and for neighbor. Jesus is Lord!

Friday, July 18, 2025: Psalm 91:9-10

Prayer Pointer: God has the capacity to bring desert bloom into your bareness. He can rescue, deliver, and strengthen you for the good He has promised to you. It might happen in this life. Or it might wait until you are on the other side of the grave. But like a barren land that has lain fallow for decades, God can and will make you bloom again. ~Karen Wingate

Prayer Fuel: Lord, teach me and my brothers and sisters to truly find our refuge in You. When the world around is shaking, help us to retreat into Your presence away from the deafening din. Help us to cut out the things that cause us to doubt Your goodness. Help us to worship You as King of Kings and Lord of Lords! (add your own prayers here) SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD! HELP US TO THRIVE IN 2025 AND FILL US WITH HOPE AGAIN!

Think/Journal/Apply: What places seem like “desert” places in your life? Talk to the Lord about them asking for revival and renewal.

Dear Praying Friends,

Scriptures talks about having the “mind of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 2:16) I shared with a prayer team that I direct that we should be asking Jesus, “What do you think about this?” So many things including headlines and even messages from the Church bombard us every day. We must present all of these things to the Lord to be “tested.” Seek Him and I believe You will find Him! Spend time in the quiet of your prayer place and listen for His voice. Ask Him for His thoughts!

Let’s keep praying for Nation and for neighbor. Jesus is Lord!

Thursday, July 17, 2025: Psalm 91:7-8

Prayer Pointer:  …we have the power to choose which thoughts we will entertain and which ones we will discard. God invites us to focus on truth. ~Crosswalk

Prayer Fuel: Lord, when I see things falling apart around me, help me to not fall apart. Help me to always seek Your perspective. Thank You for loving me and my brothers and sisters everywhere. Especially help my brothers and sisters in war-torn places to keep their eyes upon You. (add your own prayers here) SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD! HELP US TO THRIVE IN 2025 AND FILL US WITH HOPE AGAIN!

Dear Praying Friends,

The last couple of days I have felt the Lord saying, “Be strong and courageous. Fear not.” I have learned that the only way to do that is to spend time meditating in His Word and spending quiet time in prayer. Let’s keep praying for Nation and for neighbor. Jesus is Lord!

Wednesday, July 16, 2025: Psalm 91:5-6

Prayer Pointer:  Nothing but encouragement can come to us as we dwell upon the faithful dealing of our Heavenly Father in centuries gone by. Faith in God has not saved people from hardships and trials, but it has enabled them to bear tribulations courageously and to emerge victoriously. – Lee Roberson

Prayer Fuel: Lord, help me to not fear the darkness because there is nothing there that You have not already overcome. Turn on Your light, Lord, in the dark places of my life and let me see everything from Your perspective. (add your own prayers here) SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD! Dear Praying Friends,

Since the beginning of this year the Lord has instructed me to “wait and watch.” Everyday I could be tossed around and have “knee-jerk” reactions to things that I hear or read. But when I am tempted to be anxious, I can sense the Holy Spirit saying, “take a breath and calm down.” Are you spending enough time listening for His still small voice? Let’s keep praying for Nation and for neighbor.

Tuesday, July 15, 2025: Psalm 91:3-4

Prayer Pointer: You may not feel prominent in the body of Christ, but you are significant. In Christ’s body, there are many parts, but everybody’s needed. We all have work to do! -Rick Warren

Prayer Fuel: Lord, thank You for being my shield. Protect me and my brothers and sisters from the evil one. You are the faithful refuge for those who trust in You. (add your own prayers here) SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD! HELP US TO THRIVE IN 2025 AND FILL US WITH HOPE AGAIN!

Show Us Your Glory, Lord… July 14,2025…Keeping Close

Dear Praying Friends,

For more than 5 years now, almost daily, I have met with a faithful group of prayer warriors to spend 15 minutes reading Psalm 91 and praying together. There have been a few times when I have been unable to join, but the call has continued even when I was not there. We started to meet in 2020 when the pandemic was keeping many of us out of church and we just never stopped. It has been a huge blessing for me.

Recently the word “dwells” in Psalm 91:1 stood out to me. “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” I asked God what “dwells” really means and found out that the Hebrew world is “yo-shev.” One of the definitions is “to sit.”

This really ministered to me as I pictured myself “sitting” with God in companionship and love. I encourage you to read Psalm 91 over these next days with me and to pray as the Holy Spirit leads.

And if you would ever like to join my little prayer group, you would be welcome. We meet 365 days a year for just 15 minutes. You can learn more about how to join us here. If you’d just like to listen in, type *6 after joining the call.

Let’s keep praying, friends…God loves us and He hears us.

Monday, July 14, 2025: Psalm 91:1-2

Prayer Pointer: Being still is actually a courageous act of faith, making space for God to show up and show off His power. -Our Daily Verse

Prayer Fuel: Lord, help me and my brothers and sisters everywhere to truly dwell in Your presence. You are our refuge and our fortress. Help us to trust more deeply in You today. (add your own prayers here) SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD! HELP US TO THRIVE IN 2025 AND FILL US WITH HOPE AGAIN!

Dear Praying Friends, We are coming to the end of a very painful week, and yet we are still here on Planet Earth. Jesus hasn’t come to take us home which indicates that He still has work for us to do here. As we push through the pain, I can hear Him saying, “I understand…don’t give up…I’m here.” Take a moment and listen for His still, small voice in the midst of this world’s noise. It’s there if we will but listen. Let’s keep praying…

Friday, July 10, 2025: Hebrews 10:23-25

Prayer Pointer: Your battles may be real, but they are not the final word. In Christ, you are more than a conqueror. So today, whatever you’re facing, face it with the confidence of one who knows the war has already been won. You are fighting from victory, not for it. Today, let this truth be your strength and your song. -Our Daily verse

Prayer Fuel: Lord, help us to spur one another on in love and good deeds. When one is down, send someone to lift them up. Help us to find good, life giving places to assemble in prayer and the study of Your Word and to encourage each other to hold on in hope. (add your own prayers here) SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD! Dear Praying Friends, I was part of a very powerful prayer time this week that had only 3 of us. Scripture tells us, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20. If you are in a church or Bible Study where there is no prayer, I encourage you to begin praying together. You don’t need a big group. Come to Him with sincere hearts and He will meet with you. Let’s keep praying!

Thursday, July 10, 2025: 1 Peter 1:3

Prayer Pointer: “Because Jesus is human, he understands you. Because he is divine, he can help you. He is uniquely positioned to carry us home.”
― Max Lucado, Unshakable Hope: Building Our Lives on the Promises of God

Prayer Fuel: Lord, I thank You for causing me to have a new birth into Your living hope. Help me to truly walk there, talk there, live there. Help me to show others the way there. You are the way! Dear Praying Friends, Pressing on in prayer is one of the most difficult things we can do. I find that God often calls me to the hardest places to pray for His Kingdom to come. He has told me to ask for His will in all things and I realize that every day I am in a battle with forces that would oppose His Kingdom. I continue today in prayer for our Nation that feels so divided and broken. I ask you to join me in persistent prayer as we pray for renewed hope:

Wednesday, July 9, 2025: Where does my help come from? Psalm 121:1-2

Prayer Pointer: “When a believing person prays, great things happen” (James 5:16 NCV). You are never without hope, because you are never without prayer.”
― Max Lucado, Unshakable Hope: Building Our Lives on the Promises of God
