Show Us Your Glory, Lord… June 23,2025…Keeping Close

Dear Praying Friends, I just went into our local detention center to share Bible Study with the women detained there. We spoke about Luke 9:51-62 and I found a number of prayer themes there that I’d like to explore this week and next. Jesus had his face set towards Jerusalem and it made me wonder where I am to set my face. Let’s keep pressing in and pressing on in prayer. It is a difficult and challenging season, but God never leaves us nor forsakes us. Thank you for your continued prayers for nation and neighbor. I also invite you to join me in continued prayer with this month’s theme:

Show Us Your Glory, Lord… June 20,2025…Keeping Close

Dear Praying Friends,

After the excitement of answered prayers, I am ending this week with some weariness. I’m reminded that life is filled with both mountains and valleys and that the Lord is the Lord of both. I have often thought about the scripture about seed falling to the ground and dying and then bringing forth life. (John 12:24) I have sometimes related this to times when I feel weary, discouraged, disheartened. It has often been a pattern in my life that when seasons seem to “die”, coming to an end, those places can serve as a gateway to a greater harvest. If you are battling weariness or discouragement today, use that as launching place to cry out for more of God’s presence and power. I believe He loves to “refill” our cup over and over again. The Nation and the world are difficult right now. Thank you for your continued prayers for nation and neighbor. I also invite you to join me in continued prayer with this month’s theme:

SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD! HELP US TO THRIVE IN 2025 AND HELP US TO STAY CLOSE TO YOU IN THESE BUSY SUMMER DAYS!

Friday, June 20, 2025: Another very familiar scripture about the love our Heavenly Father: John 3:16

Prayer Pointer: When a man has no strength, if he leans on God, he becomes powerful. ~D.L. Moody

Prayer Fuel: Lord, I sometimes take for granted the love that You have for the world and for me. Your love caused You to give Your most valuable possession, Jesus Christ our Lord. Thank You, Jesus, for Your willingness to come among us to make a way for us to be right with God. Yours is the greatest gift of all time. Help me to remember that today and everyday. Help many all over the world to hear of You today and to accept Your wonderful gift. (add your own prayers) SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD! Dear Praying Friends,

Yesterday I mentioned that sometimes answers take time. But then sometimes answers seem to come instantly and supernaturally. I still believe that even the “quick” answers come from patiently praying when the answers don’t feel quick. This week, I asked God for a “divine appointment” and it appeared in a fantastic way. But He reminded me that this “divine appointment” came on the shoulders of many prayers that were prayed into some relationships. We don’t know how each even seemingly “small” prayer can be the platform upon which much greater things can be built. So keep on praying!

Thursday, June 19, 2025: Another scripture about the love our our Heavenly Father: Joshua 1:9

Prayer Pointer: …the God who spoke the universe into existence, the God who raised Jesus from the dead, the God who has parted seas and moved mountains—that same God is with you. And with Him, all things are possible. -Our Daily Verse

Prayer Fuel: Lord, thank You for Your reminder that You are always here for me. I am not alone. You don’t expect me to be strong and courageous in my own power, but in the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank You, Holy Spirit for coming to bring the presence of God into my life and into the lives of my brothers and sisters everywhere. Help each of us to be strong and courageous.(add your own prayers) SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD! HELP US TO THRIVE IN 2025 AND HELP US TO STAY CLOSE TO YOU IN THESE BUSY SUMMER DAYS!

Dear Praying Friends,

Sometimes answers take time! I was thinking today about the last 40+ years that the Lord has been inspiring me to pray for my city. It is hard to believe that it has been that long. And here I am today and the burden remains. I want to remind you to continue in prayer even when things seem long and difficult. Thank you for your continued prayers for nation and neighbor. I also invite you to join me in continued prayer with this month’s theme:

Wednesday, June 18, 2025: A scripture about the Father’s love: 1 John 4:8

Prayer Pointer: If your desire is to experience God, if you long to live in communion with him, you need look no further than the truth that he is pursuing you. To experience him is simply to let him in. To love him is simply to receive his love. Intimacy with God is as pure and simple as breathing.- First 15

Prayer Fuel: Lord, You are love. Help me to love the way that You love. Help me to know you more and to love you more. (add your own prayers) SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD! HELP US TO THRIVE IN 2025 AND HELP US TO STAY CLOSE TO YOU IN THESE BUSY SUMMER DAYS!

The Bible tells us that God will meet all our needs. He feeds the birds of the air and clothes the grass with the splendor of lilies. How much more, then, will He care for us, who are made in His image? Our only concern is to obey the heavenly Father and leave the consequences to Him.

Dear Praying Friends,

Prayer is most importantly about a relationship with a Heavenly Father Who loves us. But as we pray for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done, we are engaging in an ongoing battle to bring His light into dark places. Because we have just celebrated Father’s Day this week, I’m going to meditate on the Father’s love for me and I hope you will pray right along. Even though sometimes prayer is difficult, let’s persevere. Thank you for your continued prayers for nation and neighbor. I also invite you to join me in continued prayer with this month’s theme:

Prayer Pointer: Our heavenly Father understands our disappointment, suffering, pain, fear, and doubt. He is always there to encourage our hearts and help us understand that He’s sufficient for all of our needs. When I accepted this as an absolute truth in my life, I found that my worrying stopped.~Charles Stanley

Prayer Fuel: Thank You, Heavenly Father, for Your compassionate heart for me and all my brothers and sisters everywhere. Some days I get so tired in this world. Dear Praying Friends, As we approach another summer weekend, perhaps you are planning a camping trip or a barbeque. It is Father’s Day weekend so let’s lift up fathers everywhere. Let’s continue to ask God to bring “redemption” to every hurting place. He has told us to continually pray for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done. I encourage you to take some time to rest this weekend, but to remain prayerful in your rest. Consider reviewing some of the posts from this past week and praying from those prompts again. Let’s worship Him today and let’s keep asking God to help us to be tenderhearted and compassionate. And thank you for your continued prayers for nation and neighbor. Dear Praying Friends, On Wednesday, June 11 (yesterday), I asked the children in VBS what they learned about God. One little boy raised his hand and profoundly said,”Light overcomes darkness.” Out of the mouths of babes! I think that is what “redemption” is all about…God’s light overcoming the darkness of sin. As I have shared my faith with many children this week, it has brought me back to my “childlike” faith, too. Praise the Lord! I am redeemed and if you have accepted His gift, you are redeemed, too! Let’s worship Him today and let’s keep asking God to help us to be tenderhearted and compassionate. And thank you for your continued prayers for nation and neighbor. Dear Praying Friends, As I continue meditating on what “redemption” means, there are some places in my life that I definitely feel need a redemptive touch from the Lord. Do you have places where your heart has grown hard? With the world events, it is understandable. But God wants us to have clean and teachable hearts. He wants to touch our hearts of stone to replace them with hearts of flesh. (Ezekiel 36:26) Let’s keep asking God to help us to be tenderhearted and compassionate. And thank you for your continued prayers for nation and neighbor. I also invite you to join me in continued prayer with this month’s theme:
