Friday, June 6, 2025 is the 81st anniversary of D-Day. I feel I should include a military prayer prompt in this blog post. Many places will be commemorating what happened on that day. Dear Praying Friends, I think one thing that I’m currently learning or maybe relearning is to slow down to “be” with God. As the world swirls around us, I encourage you to take a deep breath as you read this and to just be still. I know that it is hard because we are surrounded by so much “noise.” That “noise” can quench the still, small voice of God. I believe we must “wait and watch.” That has been my instruction from the Lord this year. Let’s keep on encouraging each other. I invite you to join me in continued prayer this month:

Dear Praying Friends, As we close out another week and another month, I just can’t get Proverbs 3:5-6 out of my head and my heart. It showed up in multiple places since I posted it yesterday, Thursday,May 29 and I think as we end the week, I need to pause and camp on it one more time. This post will look just a little different and I invite you to pray with me.

Friday May 30, 2025: Proverbs 3:5-6

Prayer Fuel: Lord, You say “with all your heart” in Proverbs 3:5-6. I wonder how much of my heart is really Yours? I really need to know in a greater way how to trust You. Maybe this is a really dangerous prayer but I want to trust You even in saying it. You are trustworthy…I believe this. As the world around all of us seems so shaken right now, help me to place my trust not in “horses or chariots” (Psalm 20:7) but in You! (add your own prayers) SHOW US YOUR GLORY, LORD! Dear Heavenly Shepherd, Thank You for seeing me and understanding my needs more deeply than I even do. Calm my anxious heart and quiet my restless spirit. Lead me beside still waters where my soul finds restoration. In the valleys of uncertainty, be my guiding light. Fill me with a profound sense of Your presence, banishing all fear. Think/Journal/Apply: How has God used previous “seasons” to prepare me for where I am now?

As You Have Time: Take some time today to “practice” silence. Yes, I think we’d all agree that silence is hard and it takes practice. Try setting your timer for 5 minutes or more as you grow in the ability to be still! We need to learn to practice silence. You may want to start by simply saying, “Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.” Ok…ready, set, go!
