Show Us Your Glory, Lord… August 15-18, 2024

In August, let’s pray:

Show Us Your Glory, Lord, as we COMMIT to walk with You!

Dear praying friends,

As I watch friends and family go through some very dark places, I am grateful for the promise of Psalm 23:4: “Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for you are with me; your rod and your staff—they comfort me.” If you are going through a dark place, I encourage you to stand on this promise, too. It has seen me through many dark days. Let’s keep praying for students, teachers, and parents as the kids return to school. Remember in August that we are also praying: Show Us Your Glory, Lord, as we COMMIT to walk with You!

Pray on, Saints! ~Gina

Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Thursday, August 15, 2024 : John 1:5

In August, let’s pray:

Show Us Your Glory, Lord, as we COMMIT to walk with You!

Dear praying friends, As the August days march on and summer 2024 comes to a close, I pray that you are filled with God’s Spirit and ready to go when He says “GO!” The world we live in has many challenges and we must keep looking to our Lord for strength and hope. The Lord reminded me in my prayer time this morning (8/11) that I need to trust Him. He reminded me that He is an “anchor” in rough spiritual seas and that I can trust Him, my anchor, to hold even when the spiritual winds howl and the floods come! Tell Him today that You trust Him! And let’s keep praying for students, teachers, and parents as the kids return to school. Remember in August that we are also praying: Show Us Your Glory, Lord, as we COMMIT to walk with You!

Show Us Your Glory, Lord… July 29-August 5, 2024

Dear praying friends,

I rarely write a blog with more than a week of posts, but today I make an exception. I am praying and asking the Lord for His heart to finish out July and begin August because He has given me 2 big ministry assignments at the beginning of August that could interrupt the flow of this blog. I am writing “early” to avoid the interruption because I hear the Lord saying, “Press on!” Let’s finish July praying Show Us Your Glory, Lord, as we sing a new song! In the August 1st post later in this blog, I will add the new prayer prompt for August! Let’s pray on, friends! ~Gina

Show Us Your Glory, Lord… July 22-28, 2024

Dear praying friends,

As I turned to my prayer journal today, the page that fell open brought me back to Jesus as our “Good Shepherd.” Shepherds are watchmen, reminding me that the Lord is the “watchman” of my life. My Good Shepherd makes sure that I have what I need and He knows when I should rest. I noticed that in my journal on June 4, I penned the question: “What does real rest look like?” I’m going to pray about that again this week and I sense that we all need the real rest that the Good Shepherd provides. Let’s focus on His ability to shepherd us and let’s continue praying : Show Us Your Glory, Lord, as we sing a new song! It’s a new week.. pray on, friends! Gina

Show Us Your Glory, Lord… July 15-21, 2024

Dear praying friends,

I said goodbye today to those who joined me in Laramie this past week for our prayer summit. We were all saddened to hear of the shooting incident that claimed lives at the Trump rally in Pennsylvania. Regardless of where you stand politically, I think we can all agree that these actions are grievous to the Holy Spirit. Please join us in prayer for our Nation and our world. The Lord is reminding me that our spiritual house must be built on the “Rock”, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the only sure foundation. Let’s focus this week on scriptures about the steadfast love of God. Please continue praying with us this week: Show Us Your Glory, Lord, as we sing a new song! Pray on, friends! Gina

Show Us Your Glory, Lord… July 8-14, 2024

Dear praying friends,

I am preparing to host a mission team here in Laramie this week as I write this. They are coming with the sole purpose of praying for our city, state and nation. I feel a great sense of anticipation as they come! I feel that the Lord is laying a “banquet table” for us. Please pray for this team as they come from out of state and around the state. Please continue praying with us this week: Show Us Your Glory, Lord, as we sing a new song! Pray on, friends! Gina

Sing to the Lord a new song,
his praise from the ends of the earth,
you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it,
you islands, and all who live in them. ~Isaiah 42:10

Monday, July 8, 2024 : Psalm 150:1-6

Prayer Pointer: The realization that you don’t have the necessary power to prevail means that you must pray without ceasing, relying on God’s strength, particularly as you face spiritual battles. ~Bill Elliff

Prayer “Fuel”: Lord, don’t let our praise and worship of You begin and end in our church sanctuaries. Help all who are called by Your Name to live a life of worship. Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord! I do and I praise You! Show Us Your Glory, Lord, as we sing a new song!

Think/Journal/Apply: What’s one step I can take today to “press on” in my journey with Christ?

As You Have Time: Think about this: When Christ finished his work on earth, and was received into his glory in heaven, the church began to sing a new song unto him, and to bless his name. His apostles and evangelists showed forth his salvation among the heathen, his wonders among all people. All the earth is here summoned to worship the Lord. We must worship him in the beauty of holiness, as God in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself. Glorious things are said of him, both as motives to praise and matter of praise. ~Matthew Henry’s Commentary on Psalm 96:1-9

Are YOU singing a new song?

Show Us Your Glory, Lord… July 1-7, 2024

Dear praying friends, Half of 2024 is behind us as I write this. Times seem to fly and we continue praying. Days seem difficult with almost daily reports of physical and spiritual storms. When I awoke today, I asked the Lord for a “new song.” I know that many of God’s people are tired. I am tired. He knows all about our weariness. Psalm 149:1 says, “Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, And His praise in the congregation of the godly ones.” (more verses about singing a new song are here.) As we finish praying through Psalm 103 this week, let’s also pray from scriptures about the “new song.” This month, let’s pray: Show Us Your Glory, Lord, as we sing a new song! Pray on, friends! Gina

He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God;
Many will see and fear
And will trust in the Lord.

Show Us Your Glory, Lord… June 17-23, 2024

Dear Praying Friends~ Had some strange thoughts this week about the “robotic” calls I sometimes get on my cell phone. And then I wondered if that’s how I sound before the Throne sometimes…just saying the words with no real feeling behind them. I think we’d all agree that sometimes our prayer life feels “dry” and it is easy to just give “lip service” to our GREAT and MIGHTY, LORD. In my Bible reading today, I read Psalm 103 again and it seems like the perfect place to settle in this week and to commit to “Bless the Lord, O (our) souls;
And all that is within (us), bless His holy name!” Psalm 103:1 NKJV (adapted) And let’s keep praying…Show Us Your Glory, Lord as we Seek Your Kingdom First! Pray on, Saints! ~Gina

Help me, Holy Spirit, to truly surrender again today and to lay my ALL on the altar. And help my brothers and sisters all over the world to do the same. (add your response) Show Us Your Glory, Lord, as we seek Your Kingdom FIRST!
