Sometimes answers take time! I was thinking today about the last 40+ years that the Lord has been inspiring me to pray for my city. It is hard to believe that it has been that long. Prayer is most importantly about a relationship with a Heavenly Father Who loves us. But as we pray for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done, we are engaging in an ongoing battle to bring His light into dark places. Dear Praying Friends, As we approach another summer weekend,perhaps you are planning a camping trip or a barbeque. It is Father’s Day weekend so let’s lift up fathers everywhere. Let’s continue to ask God to bring “redemption” to every hurting place. He has told us to continually pray for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done. I encourage you to take some time to rest this weekend, but to remain prayerful in your rest. Consider reviewing some of the posts from this past week and praying from those prompts again. Dear Praying Friends, On Wednesday, June 11 (yesterday), I asked the children in VBS what they learned about God. One little boy raised his hand and profoundly said,”Light overcomes darkness.” Out of the mouths of babes! I think that is what “redemption” is all about…God’s light overcoming the darkness of sin. As I have shared my faith with many children this week, it has brought me back to my “childlike” faith, too. Praise the Lord! I am redeemed and if you have accepted His gift, you are redeemed, too! Dear Praying Friends, I think one thing that I’m currently learning or maybe relearning is to slow down to “be” with God. As the world swirls around us, I encourage you to take a deep breath as you read this and to just be still. I know that it is hard because we are surrounded by so much “noise.” That “noise” can quench the still, small voice of God. I believe we must “wait and watch.” That has been my instruction from the Lord this year. Let’s keep on encouraging each other. I invite you to join me in continued prayer this month:
