Prayer Fuel: ..Lord Jesus, as we celebrate another birthday for the USA, thank You for all You have done for our Nation for all these years. In the places where we are struggling and suffering, help us to know that You use our pain to produce godly character. You are a Good God and You are with us in the painful places as individuals and as a Nation. Fill each of us again with joy and peace as we trust You. Dear Praying Friends, At the beginning of this year, the Lord was reminding me to “wait and “watch.” I don’t know about you, but some days the “noise” all around is a bit overwhelming for me. The president of the National Day of Prayer Task wrote a devotional last week and I was encouraged to see the words “wait and watch” there, too. You can read her entire devotional in the link below next to “As You Have Time.” If you are feeling anxious, I encourage you to take a deep breath and sit with the Lord in some quiet away from all the noise of news and social media.

Dear Praying Friends, As we turn the page on a new month, our Nation celebrates its birthday. Many of us have been concerned about the state of our Nation and it is so important that we continue to pray for the United States of America. Jesus taught us to pray “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” (Mt. 6:10) The United States is a part of His earth.
On Thursday, July 3, I invite you to join others in prayer on the “Pray for America” call. See below for the credentials for this national conference call.

As You Have Time: Pray for the Church in your city:
We gather as Your faithful children, lifting our voices in unison, beseeching You for a mighty revival in Your church. Restore us, dear Lord, to the fervent love and devotion of our early days. Break down the walls of division that separate Your people. Unite us in Your purpose and empower us with Your Spirit. May Your church shine with the radiant light of Your truth and love, drawing all people to You. We humbly submit our church into Your loving care, trusting in Your faithfulness to revive and renew.
I think I have been thinking so much about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, because the Church was born and the believers were welcomed into a whole new experience of boldness and power. Since this event, there have been other spiritual awakenings. The Baptist Paper tells us: “All Christians should take heart that spiritual awakening is not limited to a denomination, region of the country or even a region of the world. A move of God’s Spirit can happen anytime and anywhere.” Are we welcoming the possibility of another spiritual awakening in our Nation? Let’s keep praying and believing. Thank you for your continued prayers for nation and neighbor. I also invite you to join me in continued prayer with this month’s theme:

Dear Praying Friends, I was leading a prayer group using Psalm 23 as our theme and pointed out my insight: Psalm 23 is about RELATIONSHIP. As I have been praying about always welcoming the presence of Christ in my life, I recognize that welcoming Him means RELATIONSHIP. Let’s keep praying through Luke 9 today and add a reading of Psalm 23. Thank you for your continued prayers for nation and neighbor. I also invite you to join me in continued prayer with this month’s theme:

As You Have Time: The next annual National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 7, 2026. But we don’t have to wait! I invite you to take a few moments today to pray for our MILITARY as they face dangers in their service both here and abroad.
Dear Praying Friends, This week I spent several hours worshipping and praying in a cathedral in my town that was built beginning in 1892. One of the key people in its building had brought Christianity to our town many years before when this was a lawless western town. As I was praying, I was reading from Matthew 22 where God invites to a banquet. As I meditate on this (included below as an extra) and on the passage from Luke 9 that I have included here this week, I ask myself if I truly welcome Jesus and all He wants to do in my life. This might be a good question for all of us so let’s continue to humble ourselves and to pray. Thank you for your continued prayers for nation and neighbor. I also invite you to join me in continued prayer with this month’s theme:

Think/Journal/Apply: What areas of your life do you need to commit to prayer?
Dear Praying Friends, As I continue to pray through Luke 9:51-62 this week, I continue to think about how important it is to be resolute in the purposes that God puts before me. Jesus did many things during His ministry but He was resolute in His purpose of going to the cross for you and me. When it was time, He moved forward without looking back even though He knew that what was ahead was terrifying. As we look ahead, we may feel terrified, too but let’s keep pressing in and pressing on in prayer. It is a difficult and challenging season, but God never leaves us nor forsakes us. Thank you for your continued prayers for nation and neighbor. I also invite you to join me in continued prayer with this month’s theme:

Dear Praying Friends, I just went into our local detention center to share Bible Study with the women detained there. We spoke about Luke 9:51-62 and I found a number of prayer themes there that I’d like to explore this week and next. Jesus had his face set towards Jerusalem and it made me wonder where I am to set my face. Let’s keep pressing in and pressing on in prayer. Think/Journal/Apply: Where is God calling You to stand firm? Are you battling fear?
After the excitement of answered prayers, I am ending this week with some weariness. I’m reminded that life is filled with both mountains and valleys and that the Lord is the Lord of both. I have often thought about the scripture about seed falling to the ground and dying and then bringing forth life. (John 12:24) I have sometimes related this to times when I feel weary, discouraged, disheartened. It has often been a pattern in my life that when seasons seem to “die”, coming to an end, those places can serve as a gateway to a greater harvest. If you are battling weariness or discouragement today, use that as launching place to cry out for more of God’s presence and power. I believe He loves to “refill” our cup over and over again. The Nation and the world are difficult right now. Thank you for your continued prayers for nation and neighbor. I also invite you to join me in continued prayer with this month’s theme:

Prayer Fuel: Lord, I sometimes take for granted the love that You have for the world and for me. Your love caused You to give Your most valuable possession, Jesus Christ our Lord. Thank You, Jesus, for Your willingness to come among us to make a way for us to be right with God. Yours is the greatest gift of all time. Help me to remember that today and everyday. As You Have Time: Choose another revival prompt and pray on!
Yesterday I mentioned that sometimes answers take time. But then sometimes answers seem to come instantly and supernaturally. I still believe that even the “quick” answers come from patiently praying when the answers don’t feel quick. This week, I asked God for a “divine appointment” and it appeared in a fantastic way. But He reminded me that this “divine appointment” came on the shoulders of many prayers that were prayed into some relationships. We don’t know how each even seemingly “small” prayer can be the platform upon which much greater things can be built. So keep on praying! Thank you for your continued prayers for nation and neighbor. Thursday, June 19, 2025: Another scripture about the love our our Heavenly Father: Joshua 1:9
Prayer Pointer: …the God who spoke the universe into existence, the God who raised Jesus from the dead, the God who has parted seas and moved mountains—that same God is with you. And with Him, all things are possible. -Our Daily Verse
Prayer Fuel: Lord, thank You for Your reminder that You are always here for me. I am not alone. You don’t expect me to be strong and courageous in my own power, but in the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank You, Holy Spirit for coming to bring the presence of God into my life and into the lives of my brothers and sisters everywhere.
